Culture

Through time, things change, some things more than others. In the small towns of Southern Ontario a few new franchises are introducing a new standard of design and service to the communities. A new coffee shop in the heart of town has brought a touch of pseudo-european charm to an otherwise non-inspiring main street.
In a nearby town the Charles Dickens pub has brought a trendy and comfortable design that has quickly become the most popular place in town – proving that “design” is now becoming the competitive advantage.

This timeline has also improved the traditional parts of culture. The National Hockey League has changed “offside” rules since I was last dropped into this space and time. The game is now faster with more scoring chances and fewer stoppages in play. For the first time in ten years I can see the Stanley Cup Finals in a native environment.

A timeless hockey commentator famous for his suits – is now even more famous for his suits.

Ontario is the world's main growing area for hockey players – but that isn’t the only main sport to emerge from this region. The nearby village of Beachville is alleged to be the site where baseball emerged in its modern form.
